Cooking Tips 4

You can make your own ginger garlic paste at home. Take a teaspoon of ginger and one and a half teaspoon of garlic and grind it to a paste. Keep it in the fridge. If you pour a little heated gingelly oil into the mix it will stay fresh longer. For keeping green chilli fresh longer clean it, remove the stump and then put it in a plastic bag before putting inside the fridge. Use the butter for any baking job after letting it reach room temperature. Keep it cut into small pieces as that makes it easier to achieve room temperature.

Cooking Tips 1

Want to keep the Coriander leaves fresh and for longer periods? Cover it with a muslin cloth before placing it in the refrigerator Want to escape watery eyes while chopping onions? After peeling the onions cut it into two long halves and then immerse it in water for 10 minutes. Now you can cut it into smaller pieces without your feeling like a heroine in a badly made tragedy film.. Your cutlet is disintegrating before it even reaches the mouth? Or is it too spongy or soft? Boil the potatoes and let it cool before preparing the cutlet. This will make the cutlet crisper and tastier.

GMS Powder

GMS(Glycerol monostearate) is a food additive used as a thickening, emulsifying, anti-caking, and preservative agent. GMS is largely used in baking preparations to add "body" to the food. It is responsible for giving ice cream and whipped cream its smooth texture. GMS can help to reduce consumption of egg yolk or fat used in making biscuits thus reducing cost.  Another important advantage to G.M.S. is high nutritive value.  GMS is used in candy preparation, chewing gums, margarines and peanut butter as an emulsifier Once the pack is open the GMS Powder has to be stored in air tight containers. Placing it in the refrigerator will increase its shelf life.
